Title
Turn on "geolocation mode" to share your vehicle's location
Description

Your vehicle's location isn't showing because Opel vehicles keep it private by default. To share it, turn off private mode. Do this from the driver's seat with the vehicle switched on. Start with the touchscreen; the buttons are for vehicles whose screen has no privacy menu:

Using the vehicle's touchscreen

  1. Open the privacy settings: On the main screen, open Settings, then System, and look for Privacy or Private mode. On some vehicles it sits behind the messages icon, or you pull down the banner at the top of the screen
  2. Share data and location: Choose the option that shares both data and vehicle position. Sharing data only still hides the location

Using the SOS and Assistance buttons (if your vehicle's screen has no privacy menu)

  1. Find the buttons: Look in the overhead console for the red SOS button and, next to it, the Assistance button, marked with the Opel badge or a wrench symbol
  2. Press both at once: Press SOS and Assistance together and release straight away. The SOS light may blink; ignore it. Never hold SOS on its own, because after two seconds it calls the emergency services
  3. Confirm: A voice message asks you to confirm "geolocation mode". Press the Assistance button
  4. Done: A voice message confirms the vehicle is now in "geolocation mode". If you hear no voice message, your vehicle only allows this change on the touchscreen, so go back to the steps above and look again for the privacy menu

After your next drive, your vehicle's location should start to appear in the app. It can take a little while.
